Who we are — and how we are paid

Ready Steady Sell is an independent home-selling comparison service, not a property buyer or estate agent. Founded by Lisa Hayes, we help homeowners compare genuine cash offers and investor options without the pressure, inflated promises or hidden fees that plague the quick-sale market. Our head office is Office 1, Amron Business Centre, Blaydon-on-Tyne NE21 4JN (Company Reg. No. 10041044).

We are free to homeowners. We are paid by the vetted buyers and partners we work with — never by you — and you are under no obligation to accept any offer. Because we do not buy your home ourselves, we have no incentive to push one outcome: our job is to help you choose the route that genuinely fits your situation.

How we vet every buyer (our first-hand process)

The quick-sale sector contains genuine, funded buyers alongside lead brokers and firms that inflate an offer then reduce it near exchange. Before we pass your details to anyone, and in the guidance we publish, we apply the same checks we would use ourselves:

CheckWhat we look for
Proof of fundsEvidence the buyer purchases with its own money — not a broker reselling your enquiry
NAPB membershipNational Association of Property Buyers — a code of practice and accountability
The Property Ombudsman (TPO)Independent redress if something goes wrong
Companies House & reviewsTrading history, directors, and genuine Trustpilot/Google reviews
A firm, written offerAn offer that holds to completion, with no last-minute reductions
No long lock-inNo lengthy exclusivity clauses that trap you with one buyer

You can run these same checks yourself — we explain exactly how in are quick-sale firms legitimate? and best house-buying companies.

Our editorial & accuracy standards

Our guides are written to inform, not to sell. We research from primary sources — HM Land Registry, ONS, the Bank of England, Gov.uk, NAPB, The Property Ombudsman, and reputable industry data — and we cite them. Figures are dated and refreshed as the market moves. Cornerstone guidance is reviewed by Lisa Hayes for accuracy and fairness, and every page shows when it was last reviewed.

We do not invent statistics, testimonials or outcomes, and we present trade-offs honestly — including when a cash sale is not the right choice. Where a topic touches money, tax or the law, we point you to qualified professionals (a solicitor, accountant or regulated adviser) rather than overreach.

Accuracy & corrections

If you spot something that is out of date or wrong, tell us at help@readysteadysell.co.uk and we will review and correct it promptly. We would always rather fix an error than leave it standing.

Your data & privacy

We treat your information carefully and in line with UK GDPR. When you request offers, we share only what is needed with the relevant checked & vetted buyers so they can make you an offer — and we never sell your data to unrelated third parties. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Complaints & redress

If you are unhappy with us, email help@readysteadysell.co.uk and we will respond. Because the buyers we work with are NAPB members and registered with The Property Ombudsman, you also have an independent redress route with any purchase — one of the key reasons we insist on those memberships.
