No Viewings on My House — Why, and What to Do
If your house has been on the market with no viewings, the cause is almost always the price — followed by the photos, the portal exposure and the agent. In a normal market a correctly-priced home gets viewing requests within the first week or two; a complete lack of interest is the market telling you the asking price or the presentation is off. Here is how to diagnose it fast and what to do — including when a guaranteed sale beats waiting.

Why you have no viewings
Viewing requests are the clearest signal in the whole process. If they are not coming, work through the causes in order of likelihood:
- The asking price is too high. Buyers search in price brackets; price above your home’s real value and the right buyers never even see it. This is by far the most common cause.
- Weak photos and listing. Dark, cluttered or few photos, no floorplan, a thin description — buyers scroll past in seconds.
- Limited portal exposure. If you are not on Rightmove and Zoopla, most buyers will not find you.
- The agent. Slow to respond to enquiries, poor follow-up, or simply not pushing your listing.
- Genuine demand or seasonal lulls. A quiet local market or a slow period (deep winter) reduces traffic — but price still trumps this.
What to do about it
- Re-check your price against sold comparables on your own street — not asking prices, and not an online estimate. See how much is my house worth? A reduction that moves you into the next search bracket can switch viewings on overnight.
- Fix the listing: bright, decluttered photos, a floorplan, and a description that leads with the best features.
- Confirm portal coverage — you should be on both Rightmove and Zoopla.
- Push the agent for feedback and a relaunch, or change agent if they are unresponsive.
- Consider the alternatives if you need certainty: a property auction, or a cash sale that completes in 7–28 days with no viewings, no chain and no fees — at 75–85% of value.

Frequently asked questions
Straight answers, no sales talk
Why am I getting no viewings on my house?
Almost always the asking price is too high for the search bracket, followed by weak photos, limited portal exposure, or an unresponsive agent. Well-priced homes usually get viewing requests within the first 1–2 weeks.
How long is too long with no viewings?
If you have had no viewings after 2–3 weeks on the open market, treat it as feedback that the price or presentation needs to change rather than waiting longer.
How can I sell with no viewings at all?
A genuine cash buyer purchases without viewings, chains or fees and completes in 7–28 days, typically at 75–85% of market value.
